Broken Hill Village was developed by Coles and opened in April 2014. The centre comprises a single level, sub-regional shopping centre anchored by a full line Coles supermarket, Liquorland, Target discount department store and ‘Cheap as Chips’, 12 specialty shops and 1 ATM.
The car park provides for 512 vehicles with shade sails to the main parking area between the centre and Gossan Street. The site is easily accessible for customers and staff via Silver City Highway (South Road), Gossan Street and Blende Street. Gossan Street is 1.5km west of the main commercial street of Broken Hill. The shopping centres’ large internally illuminated signs situated high on the shopping centre fascia are highly visible to traffic.
The primary trade area for Broken Hill Village (essentially, the town) is estimated to have a resident population of 18,860 in 2015. The total trade area population is estimated as 21,460 in 2015. The retail spending capacity of the trade area population is expected to increase from $284 million in 2015 to $390 million in 2026.
The new Coles Supermarket is well appointed and has very easy park and shop access and as a result the Centre is increasing its visitation rates.
