Fawkner Property takes its name from John Pascoe Fawkner, who, with John Batman, founded the settlement of Melbourne.
“Little Johnny” Fawkner gave his name to two suburbs of Melbourne – Fawkner itself and Pascoe Vale, where his farm was located – as well as to Fawkner Park overlooked by the offices of Fawkner Property.
The Australian Dictionary of Biography has it that, when he died aged 76, on 4 September 1869 at his home in Smith Street Collingwood, he was “the grand old man of contemporary Victoria.”
While Fawkner had his encounters with the law and experienced bankruptcy, one of his great strengths was freedom from corruption. He was a pioneer of great resilience and publicly advocated self-reliance, based on ownership of property.

Owen Lennie has more than 30 years experience in property and funds management and has held an authorisation under the corporations law for over 20 years. He is a qualified accountant, town planner, land economist and funds manager. He is an Associate Professor at the University of Melbourne and a former President and honorary life member of the Property Funds Association (formerly the Australian Direct Property Investment Association).
He has advised the Government of Victoria as Chairman of the Planning Advisory Council, as Chairman of the Building advisory Council and as a director of the Urban Land Corporation (now part of Places Victoria).
As well as being an executive director of Fawkner Property Pty Ltd, he is chairman of USA Residential Funds Management Limited).
Director of Property Management & Leasing
David Turner has been appointed as the company secretary for Farrell Heidelberg Pty Ltd and Fawkner Property. At Fawkner Property David is directly involved with the retention and recruitment of tenants across the property portfolio in addition his capacity as the Director of Property Management and Leasing.
Prior to joining Fawkner Property in September 2016, David was a Director of ‘dtp retail & property solutions’ completing project leasing of greenfield sites as well as negotiating retail leases both for landlords or as a tenant advocate across Australia.
David Turner has more than 20 Years’ experience as a Shopping Centre Manager of sub region
David is a fully Licensed Real Estate Agent, Auctioneer and Business Broker and has been involved in a number of significant retail asset sales and acquisitions.al, neighbourhood & bulky goods retail assets across 3 states of Australia, managing Assets on behalf of leading Investors and Property Institutions.
David understands intimately the nuances of retailing and the management of retail assets and has developed a national network with retailers and Government Agencies.
Director of Business Development
Shane joined Fawkner Property in early 2018. Shane has previously held an Associate Director role at global accounting and financial services firm Deloitte for 4 years, providing strategic consulting advice to both government and non-government organisations. In addition to this, he has held a General Manager of Commercial Operations role within the Australian football League, with responsibility for all sponsorship properties and corporate partnerships at the St Kilda football club.
Over the past 4 years Shane has held residential property consultant and project management roles within the residential construction industry, working closely with property development companies, construction companies and local council.
Shane previously graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Deakin University and a Master of Business Administration at Victoria University majoring in Accounting and Finance.
Shane is responsible for Business Development activities at Fawkner Property, including all investor relations and distribution for all ‘Private Property Trusts’. Shane is a member of the Fawkner Property investment committee and draws on his in depth understanding of the Australian property market to support the ongoing acquisition and divestment strategy of Fawkner Property.
Prior to commencing at Deloitte, Shane was a professional athlete in the Australian Football League for 15 years playing a combined total of 252 AFL premiership season games. Shane represented the St Kilda and Collingwood Football Club. Shane currently holds a position as a member of the Australian Football League Tribunal committee, a position which he has held for 4 years.

Paul has been appointed as Manager of Strategy, having joined Fawkner Property in early 2016. Paul previously occupied leadership positions in the Local Government and Information Technology sectors for more than 10 years where he was regularly involved in a range of strategic and operational property matters. In addition to this, he has contributed to policy development and has been an advisor to a number of Victorian Government major infrastructure projects.
Paul graduated with a Bachelor of Business degree majoring in Entrepreneurship from RMIT University and a Master of Property degree from RMIT University.
A qualified land economist, Paul has an in depth understanding of the property market and drives the research function within Fawkner Property to identify strategic opportunities for the acquisition and divestment of properties. In addition to this, Paul draws heavily on his analytical skills to ensure the Fawkner Property portfolio performs to the highest level and returns to investors are maximised.

Natasha has more than 15 years experience in customer service & administration. Natasha joined Fawkner Property in September 2013.
Natasha has worked in the financial service industry since 2006, and has extensive experience and knowledge in investment portfolio administration, compliance and customer service. Natasha is experienced in the safe handling of confidential client information and maintenance of information systems.

Susanne began her financial planning career in 1997. She is a Partner at a prominent high net worth financial planning firm based in Melbourne with clients located nationally.
Having looked after the investment needs of high net wealth clients for two decades, Susanne has a deep understanding of the importance of diversification and asset allocation. She has always had the strong view that commercial property has been overlooked in investment allocation as an asset class.
The need for retirees’ investments to generate income is vital in the current economic environment of high volatility in equity markets and bank term deposit rates having collapsed and no outlook of them improving.
Over the years Susanne’s clients have found residential property investment too hard and the risks high for the low yields generated. In addition the outlook for residential property growth is very constrained. The outlook for unlisted commercial property is particularly attractive compared to over-valued Australian residential property, especially in Melbourne and Sydney, and other asset classes, such as bonds and equities. The attractive yields on offer from unlisted commercial property compared to other assets continue to point to solid returns from commercial property in the years ahead.
Susanne has been using unlisted commercial property for the low correlation of returns to equities and to generate reliable consistent income for her clients.
